Privacy Policy

Overview

StudyPrep (“we”, “us”) provides study tools for students: notes, flashcards, quizzes, math courses, test-prep practice, and an AI tutor. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect the minimum we need to run the product, and we do not sell personal information.

Information we collect

• Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash), or your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google.
• Study content — notes you write, documents you upload, and the flashcards, quizzes, and chat conversations generated from them.
• Learning activity — quiz scores, practice history, study time, streaks, and diagnostic results, used to power your progress views and recommendations.
• Technical data — basic device and usage information (such as browser type and pages visited) used to keep the service secure and reliable.

How we use information

• To provide the product: generate study materials, grade practice, track progress, and personalize recommendations.
• To operate AI features: your study content is processed by AI providers solely to generate the responses you request. It is not used to train their models.
• To send service emails such as weekly study digests, which you can turn off at any time.
• To keep accounts secure, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information and we do not show third-party advertising.

Students and children

StudyPrep is designed for students, including students under 18. Access to an account may require approval by an administrator (for example, a school or organization). If you are under 13, a parent, guardian, or school must set up and approve your access. Parents and guardians may contact us at any time to review or request deletion of their child’s information.

Family view

When a parent or guardian account is linked to a student, the parent sees read-only progress summaries (such as study time and quiz performance). Linking is visible to the student and can be revoked by the student at any time.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us run StudyPrep — cloud hosting, authentication, email delivery, and AI processing — under agreements that limit their use of your data to providing those services. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete individual notes, decks, and quizzes at any time. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at the address below and we will complete the deletion within 30 days, except where we must retain records to meet legal obligations.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted by per-user authorization rules, and we review access controls regularly. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by law.

Your choices

• Access, correct, or export your study content from within the app.
• Turn off digest emails in settings or via the unsubscribe link.
• Request a copy or deletion of your data by contacting us.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect.
